What is Balance Point?

The balance point (BP) is measured in millimeters from the bottom of the racket handle. It indicates where the center of mass lies along the racket shaft.

Balance Point Ranges

Balance Point Classification Feels Like
285-295mm Head Heavy Heavy head, light handle
295-305mm Even Balance Neutral, balanced feel
305-315mm Head Light Light head, heavy handle

Head Heavy: Power Players

A lower balance point (closer to the head) puts more weight in the racket head. This creates pendulum momentum that adds natural power to every swing.

  • Best for: Power hitters, smash specialists
  • Trade-off: Slower maneuvering at the net
  • Typical BP: 290-300mm

Even Balance: The All-Rounder

An evenly balanced racket feels neutral in the hand. It adapts to any playing style and works well for both singles and doubles.

  • Best for: Beginners, intermediate players, all-rounders
  • Trade-off: Neither maximum power nor maximum speed
  • Typical BP: 300-305mm

Head Light: Speed Demons

A higher balance point (further from the head) puts more weight toward the handle. This reduces swing weight and makes the racket feel lighter.

  • Best for: Singles players, defensive specialists
  • Trade-off: Less inherent power — relies on technique
  • Typical BP: 305-315mm

Balance Point OEM Tuning

We adjust balance point during manufacturing by controlling where carbon fiber material is concentrated in the frame. Adding or removing material from the head section shifts the BP by 5-10mm. This is one of our most requested customizations for premium OEM brands.
